  1. Everyone else is crazy...but me! Says:

No one is forcing you to do anything. Any time you feel that your life would be better back in whatever ‘wonderland’ you came here from, then go back.

(I bet you won’t go back.)

  2. ask me again Says:

Hey the reason why your waiting so long is because of all the people that are here Illegally! Go take it up with them.

  3. ramalingam Says:

I have been waiting since 2000 and same situation here as yours.
Most of the people think that immigrants are taking away their jobs, but they dont think in the other bright aspect that we also would be able to give them quality jobs through our new ventures. I dont have any answer why we are made to wait so long, but atleast we need to console ourselves that goodness comes for those who wait. What else to do ??

The H1-B visa program is intended to fill short term labor shortages. It is not intended as an avenue for immigration.

You can switch jobs if you find a company that is willing to transfer your visa.

Since the H1-B program is short term and conditional on continued employment, establishing permanent roots such as purchasing a residence or establishing a business would be inappropriate.

You can quit and go home any time you want.

    You make a good point…

The “FRONT DOOR” of America, that everyone would like immigrants to use is mostly inaccessible to the poor and impoverished people who want to come here. This is why so many people risk their lives and freedom to use the back door. Funny though, if your a star soccer player celebrity you can get into the US immediatley…”Elite Visa !”

If we want to curb illegal immigration, we need to start by putting a welcome mat on the front door, so that people will use it. Take out some of the ridiculous fees and paperwork that is making it impossible for some to enter legally. Sure you can download the forms from the immigration website, and you can pay thousands of dollars to get here legally within 10 or 15 years…..but if it were me, honestly, as things are …I would be one of the people jumping the damn fence. If we don’t make the front door a bit wider and more welcoming, the majority of immigration will always be of the illegal type. Otherwise we will still have just as many immigrants, only we won’t know who, where, and when they are coming into the US.

Welcome to the system pal, you and everyone they bring in from the third world is apart of it. They lock you in so you have no choice but to work for them. Same with the Mexicans in agriculture. I do not support legal immigration, I believe the world population is irresponsible and out of control. We should not provide any outlet whatsoever for third world countries that can’t control their birthrates. They have to solve their own problems.

Cry me a river, you should have tried helping your own country instead of running from it. An American was laid off so you could be hired and get paid less money. H1-B visa means you will have to return to your country once it expires

  9. Drixnot Says:

You should just be thankful you have a job. Yes, your employer is abusing you and paying you less because you are trapped. But guess what, that’s why they hired you instead of an American in the first place.

The labor shortage is a lie, we have plenty of workers who are qualified or who might need a little training (on the job training is less expensive then sponsoring someone) Companies WANT you so they can take advantage of you.

If you still want to be here then you still have to wait. If you don’t want to wait then you can go home.

  11. Minga Says:

If you came here for a better life and aren’t getting it, then take your family back to your home country.

  12. wish4b13 Says:

This country really doesn’t need anymore people like you. Seriously..Go back where you came from.

  13. Razor Jim Says:

The process is either worth it to you or not. I guess it depends on how bad you want to be here.

  14. peanuthead Says:

2001 is nothing. But I will agree that if there is a need for reform….this is where it should be.

In all seriousness…..where’s the difference? Slave labor and hands tied to benefit the business? Legal and you are more limited than an illegal because your life is under a microscope. Risking deportation when you don’t even have to commit a crime..
You are trapped. But from our side….what else would you suggest?

Personally…..business has gotten too much power. We…as citizens are getting it from both ends. They bring in legal people to do the job for less….or ignore the illegals who do the job for less. Both are being used for CHEAP labor. Or…complain too much and all the businesses leave the country. All for the buck. Then what?

I ask…..what about the citizens first…..second is legal immigration…..I could care less about illegals.

As a citizen I ask the same question…I’m here…did all I was supposed to do and now it means nothing? Welcome to our world.
